You know what’s better than a nice relaxing bath after a long day? Ya I know a relaxing bath sounds pretty spectacular on it’s own, but let me tell you a little secret….an epsom salt bath is SO much better!! I can’t tell you how much better sore muscles feel after a good epsom salt bath soak ….you know sore muscles from all that working out I’ve been doing (wink wink)! Plus I just love how soft it makes my skin feel! Hands down, a bath just isn’t a bath without epsom salt.
So what makes an epsom salt bath so much better? Well epsom salt is made up of the minerals magnesium and sulfate. Magnesium helps to regulate over 300 enzymes in your body and sulfate helps to flush toxins from your body. Ironically enough, most of us are magnesium deficient, and while studies have shown that both magnesium and sulfate are poorly absorbed through the stomach, they are both very easily absorbed through the skin. Personally, I have bags and bags of this stuff ….because a girl can’t run out of epsom salt when she needs it most right? I usually stock up on the Target brand epsom salt, but occasionally I splurge and get this stuff in lavendar or milk and honey. The scent of both of these epsom salt splurges seriously turn my bathtub into an instant spa ….just the way I like it!!
