Hi there friendlies! Sorry about no post yesterday, but I spent my weekend running around like a psycho…and when I run around like a psycho….I THINK about the things that interest me (interior design, organization, ways to simplify my life)…..you know all the important things in life!
Well this “thinking” leads to a lot of random ideas….which leads to more random ideas……and my brain literally doesn’t turn off (as in I keep a notebook next to my nightstand so I can write ideas down in the middle of the night….call me crazy!!)….anyway all this complex thinking gets me distracted, which make’s it hard for me to “use my words” (I did warn you about this here!)…..Note to self…..keep it simple stupid!
Ok enough of my rambling…speaking of keeping it simple, I wanted to share these pre-made smoothie packs that I’ve incorporated into my Sunday routine that has made eating healthy during the week a snap!
Basically you start with the ingredients above (makes one serving), put in a freezer safe ziploc bag, and put in the freezer. I make 10 packs every Sunday so I’m set for the week. Now is that easy or what?
When you’re ready to have a smoothie on the go (I usually have this for breakfast…sometimes for dinner if I’m on a cleanse), just take one bag out of the freezer and put in a blender with 1/4 cup aloe vera juice (inner fillet kind…keeps you regular….say no more) + 3/4 cup coconut water.
Just like that you have a healthy meal in minutes. Plus the clean-up is super easy too….Just rinse the blender container, fill it half way with hot water and put in one drop of dish soap. Then blend on high for one minute, pour out the water, rinse, and let air dry…doesn’t get any simpler than that! The Hubstanator always say’s my smoothies somehow taste better than his….hhhmmm not sure if that’s a trick to get me to always make the smoothies (like the time your parents told you how good you were at cleaning your room)……but with these smoothie packs he can rest assured that his smoothies will turn out just as yummy as mine!!
p.s.: you can also use frozen fruit, but I like to use the fresh kind whenever it’s in season!
p.p.s : feel free to try different fruit combo’s (1 cup greens + 1 cup frozen fruit + 1 cup liquid)…or add oats, peanut butter, or protein powder…you get the idea…make it work for you!
p.p.p.s: (see I told you I had a lot on my mind)….I found these tart cherry smoothie packs at Whole Foods and use this in place of the blueberries when I’m having trouble falling asleep…why? because tart cherry’s have a ton of natural melatonin….check out all the health benefits of TART cherries here.
